The ThermiTin plant offers a smelting process that is not dependent on having access to electricity supply infrastructure, as is the case with arc furnaces and induction furnaces normally used for producing tin metal.

Our plant and equipment are a low-capex option. Furthermore, it is mobile (one plant fits into two 20ft containers) and modular.

We offer a process that is capable of processing lower-grade minerals. Our plant can process concentrates as low as 50% (Sn).

The tin plant operates at a low cost. Maintenance cost is very low and very few staff is needed to operate the plant as it uses a simple, but robust, production procedure. It uses very little electricity; some equipment, such as the crusher, needs energy, which is supplied via a generator included, while the actual smelting process uses aluminium powder as the energy source to smelt the tin (aluminothermic process). We have developed cost-effective, bespoke aluminium powders needed for this process.
